Dr. Mark Rutland

Founder and President of Global Servants

Dr. Mark Rutland is the founder and President of Global Servants which he began in 1977 with his wife, Alison, and a donation of 150 dollars. Over the years Dr. Rutland has continued as the President of Global while also serving as a Senior Pastor and a University President. A native of Texas, he was educated at the University of Maryland, Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, and holds a Ph.D. from California Graduate School of Theology. Through Global Servants, Rutland has traveled in missionary evangelism around the world and founded ministries in Ghana and Thailand. The House of Grace home for tribal girls in Chiang Rai, Thailand was founded in 1988 and houses over 100 girls. He also is a sought after speaker for leadership seminars and conferences in the U.S. and abroad. He and his wife Alison have taught together in Global’s marriage enrichment conference ministering to thousands of couples over the years.

Dr. Rutland is the author of fifteen books: Launch Out into the Deep, The Finger of God, Hanging by a Thread, Behind the Glittering Mask, Streams of Mercy, God of the Valleys, Nevertheless, Dream, Character Matters, Power, Holiness, Resurrection, Most Likely to SucceedRelaunch, and 21 Seconds to Change Your World. His recent book ReLaunch, is a New York Times Bestseller.

Mark and Alison Rutland have been married since 1967 and have one son, two daughters, five grandsons, and four granddaughters.

Alison Rutland

Founder and Development of Global Servants

Alison Rutland has a rich background in diverse ministry settings. Over the years she has assisted her husband, Dr. Mark Rutland, in pastoral ministry and the founding and development of Global Servants. She and her husband minister together to thousands of couples each year at the Couples Conference, a unique marriage enrichment weekend, developed by the Rutland’s. Alison was educated at Lee University and earned her Master’s from the Assembly of God Theological Seminary.

She served as the Director of Publications for Global Servants for twenty years giving oversight to all print media. Alison also served as the Director of Women’s Ministries at Calvary Assembly in Orlando, Florida for five years. She then assumed the Directorship of House of Grace, Global’s home for girls in Thailand for two years.After completion of her Master’s Degree she became the Director of Freshmen Discipleship for Southeastern University and served as an adjunct instructor at the University for five years.

Alison considers her most significant accomplishment her three children and nine grandchildren.

James Leatherbarrow

Chief Operating Officer for Global Servants

James Leatherbarrow has worked for Global Servants since 2010. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer. James coordinates the various missions and ministries of Global Servants, directs the media and sales for the organization, as well as manages the Atlanta office.

James did his undergraduate work at the University of Cincinnati and Southeastern University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. James earned his MBA from Southeastern University in December, 2008. James worked as a High School Economics teacher for eight years in Lakeland, Florida while also serving as an adjunct instructor in the Business Department at Southeastern.

James is married to Emily Leatherbarrow and currently resides in Lawrenceville, Georgia with their two daughters, Juliet and Camille and son, Everett.

Tim Rutland

Chief Financial Officer for Global Servants

Tim Rutland has worked for Global Servants since 1988 as Chief Financial Officer. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Conservation and Resource Development. He and his wife, Wanda, live in Deltona, FL.

They have one daughter, Dallas Kate, who is married to Dr. Albie Cabrera, and lives in Debary, FL. Tim and Wanda have two grandsons, Isaac Daniel Cabrera and Gabriel Dominic Cabrera and one granddaughter, Susannah Mercy Cabrera.


Travis Rutland

Coordinator of West Africa at Global Servants

Travis Rutland has worked for Global Servants since January 1997. He currently serves as the Director of West Africa for Global Servants. Travis also serves as the pastor of Restoration Church in Bethlehem GA.

A native of Georgia, Travis holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from Southeastern University. Travis has been married to his wife, Courtney, since 1997 and the reside in Bethlehem, GA. They have three sons, Mark, Owen and Liam.

Emily Leatherbarrow

Director of House of Grace Thailand - Ghana

Reverend Emily Leatherbarrow has worked for Global Servants since 2003. Graduating from Southeastern University in 2004, Emily received her Bachelor’s of Science in Church Leadership. During her time at Southeastern she started an on-campus Bible study, completed the collegiate Master’s Commission program, and worked as an interim youth pastor. Emily first received her ordination with the Assemblies of God in 2006 and is now ordained with the International Ministerial Fellowship.

Reverend Leatherbarrow volunteered with Youth for Christ in Lakeland, FL from 2004 to 2006 where she served as the campus pastor for both a juvenile detention center and a sheriff’s youth villa. Her responsibilities as campus pastor included preaching, recruiting and equipping volunteers and counseling with both girls and staff.

Emily is the Director of House of Grace for Global Servants. Since 2004 she has managed and developed our overseas staff, overseen several international building projects and coordinated fundraising for the ministry. Emily also serves as the primary contact for Global Servants’ sponsors and donors.

Emily recently began a mentorship with Marilyn Hickey who is offering her wisdom and guidance in ministry. In addition to her overseas work, domestically Emily preaches the gospel, teaches on healing and officiates weddings. Emily is married to James Leatherbarrow and they reside in Lawrenceville, GA with their two daughters, Juliet and Camille and son, Everett.

Severo Baltasar

Publications and Social Media

Severo Baltasar has worked for Global Servants since 2010. He currently serves as the assistant director of publications and social media. Severo manages Global Servants' website and social media channels.

Severo graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Youth Ministry. He has an occupational background in multimedia, newswriting, and graphic design.

Severo resides in Flowery Branch, Georgia. He is currently enjoying the blessing of single life.
