Welcoming New Girls into the House of Grace Family

This summer, House of Grace-Thailand welcomed 12 new girls into its loving family.

Each girl arrived from a vulnerable situation marked by poverty, abuse, or instability. In the remote mountain villages of northern Thailand, these circumstances can place young girls at increased risk of exploitation and human trafficking. Through the support of caring sponsors and ministry partners, House of Grace provides a safe, nurturing home where each girl can grow, learn, and discover the hope God has for her future.

God sees every child—even the smallest girl in the most distant village. We are deeply grateful for these 12 precious lives and for the opportunity to welcome them into a community where they are known, valued, and loved.

Becoming Part of a Family

The new girls quickly discover that House of Grace is much more than a residence. It operates like one large family.

Older sisters help care for younger sisters. The younger girls encourage and support one another. The House of Grace team serves as moms, dads, aunts, uncles, mentors, and trusted friends. Together, they share meals, complete chores, attend school, worship, celebrate, and build lifelong relationships.

Welcoming a new girl into such a close-knit community takes intentional care. That is why team-building games and group activities are especially important during the summer months. These activities help the girls get to know one another, develop trust, and understand that they each have an important place within the family.



The games also teach valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, responsibility, and servant leadership. Whether completing a challenge, encouraging a teammate, or helping a younger sister, every girl has an opportunity to contribute.

Back to School and Ready to Learn

With summer activities completed, the girls have now returned to school. For the new girls, this marks another important step as they adjust to new routines, classrooms, teachers, and friendships. Education is a vital part of the ministry of House of Grace. The girls are encouraged to work hard, develop their abilities, and prepare for a future filled with opportunity. They receive the practical support, encouragement, and stability they need to focus on their studies and pursue their goals.



The House of Grace family celebrates accomplishments both large and small—from completing an assignment to graduating, attending college, or beginning a career.

A Birthday Celebration for Every Girl

The next major celebration at House of Grace will be the annual birthday party. Rather than allowing birthdays to pass unnoticed, House of Grace holds a joyful celebration to honor every girl. Through monthly sponsorship, each girl receives a $40 birthday gift that she can use to shop for items she wants or needs. Some girls choose special snacks or small treats. Others select clothing, school supplies, personal-care products, or other practical items. For a new girl, this may be the first time she has been able to shop with her own money and make her own decisions.

The experience helps each girl develop confidence, independence, and money-management skills. Girls who are eligible also have savings accounts at a local bank and are encouraged to save a portion of their birthday money. This simple practice teaches financial responsibility and helps them begin preparing for future needs. Most importantly, the birthday celebration communicates a message every child deserves to hear: Your life is worth celebrating.
