A New Home, A New Beginning in Thailand

Global Servants

The sound of construction is beginning to fade.

Where there was once a construction site—filled with tools, materials, and long days of labor—there now stands something beautiful. The new dormitory at House of Grace Thailand is nearly complete, and with every final detail, a quiet sense of anticipation is growing. Soon, this building will be filled with life.  Not just activity—but purpose. Not just movement—but transformation.

Because this dorm is not simply a structure. It is a place where girls will find hope.

In the coming weeks, girls will begin moving into their new home.

Each one will arrive with her own journey—some marked by hardship, others by uncertainty—but all stepping into something entirely new. For many, this will be the first time they have experienced a safe and stable environment. The first time they’ve had a bed of their own. The first time they’ve had the opportunity to simply be a child without fear.

And as they walk through the doors, everything begins to shift.

What was once out of reach—education, care, encouragement, and hope—becomes part of their everyday life.

This new dorm makes room for more than just beds.  It makes room for futures.

With this expansion, House of Grace Thailand will be able to welcome new girls who are still waiting for an opportunity like this. Girls who now have a place prepared for them—a place where they will be known, loved, and given the chance to grow.

Inside these walls, they will study, laugh, build friendships, and begin to see themselves differently. They will be encouraged to dream. They will be supported in their education. They will be surrounded by people who believe in who they can become.

And over time, those small, daily moments will begin to shape something far greater.

Confidence. Strength. Purpose.

It’s impossible to walk through this nearly completed dorm without thinking about the people who made it possible.

Every wall, every room, every space has been built through the generosity of faithful supporters who chose to invest in something bigger than themselves.

Because of that generosity, this building now stands ready—not empty, but expectant.

Expecting laughter in the hallways.
Expecting late nights of studying and early mornings of new routines.
Expecting lives to be changed, one girl at a time.

There is something powerful about standing in a place before it is filled.

You can almost see it—the moments that are coming.

Girls gathered together, sharing meals.
Voices lifted in prayer and worship.
Friendships forming.
Dreams beginning.

And soon, those moments will no longer be imagined. They will be real.

As the final touches are completed and preparations are made, one thing is clear: This is more than the end of a building project. It is the beginning of a new chapter. A chapter where more girls will find hope.  Where more lives will be restored. Where more futures will be rewritten. And it all begins with a door opening—and a girl stepping inside.

A Note from Travis Rutland

“This dorm is a powerful reminder of what happens when people come together with a heart to make a difference. Every room represents a life that will be changed, a story that will be rewritten, and a future filled with hope.

We are so grateful for every person who gave, prayed, and believed in this vision. Because of you, more girls will have a safe place to call home and the opportunity to grow into everything God has created them to be.

As we prepare to welcome these girls, we do so with full hearts—knowing that this is only the beginning of what God will continue to do through House of Grace Thailand.”

When House of Grace–Ghana opened in 2011, ten girls came to Kumasi from remote northern villages in Ghana. These girls, who were orphans, had been living with the pastors of Trinity Foundation Churches, a ministry of Global Servants. They were scared and had not ventured away from their home villages.

My husband and I felt God calling us into missions right before Covid shut the world down for a little while. We took our first mission trip to House of Grace–Thailand in 2024. It was so amazing! While painting the worship space at House of Grace, God answered a 21-year-old prayer of mine.
